The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in Limpopo has issued a statement regarding the recent Ward 13 by-elections in the Polokwane Municipality. Led by its Provincial Secretary, Phineas "Boko" Sebola, the ANCYL expressed gratitude to the people of Ward 13, particularly the youth, for their unwavering support and participation in the by-elections.

The ANCYL commended its dedicated volunteers and members who worked tirelessly during the campaign period to rally support for their Councillor Candidate Mokgadi “Butter” Boloko. Although the outcome of the elections was not in their favor, the ANCYL took full responsibility for the result and viewed it as an opportunity to learn and prepare for the upcoming local government elections.

The ANCYL strongly condemned the statement issued by the Young Communist League (YCL) on the day before the elections, which launched unwarranted attacks on the ANC-led Provincial Government. The ANCYL emphasized that the ANC-led government is the responsibility of the ANC and the ANCYL, and anyone who seeks to drag it into their own narrow political battles will not be tolerated.

Despite the outcome of the by-elections, the ANCYL remains committed to serving the youth of Limpopo with dedication, humility, and purpose. The league emphasized that its work does not end at the ballot box and pledged to continue walking with the community, advocating for youth development, and serving as a vessel for their hopes and aspirations.

The ANCYL's statement serves as a reminder of the importance of youth participation in shaping the future of their communities. The league's commitment to serving the youth and advocating for their development is a testament to its dedication to the values of the ANC and the principles of democracy.

In conclusion, the ANCYL's response to the by-election outcome demonstrates its maturity and commitment to serving the people of Limpopo. The league's willingness to accept responsibility for the outcome and learn from it is a positive step towards building a stronger and more effective organization. As the ANCYL continues to work with the community and advocate for youth development, it is clear that the league will remain a vital force in the province for years to come.
