The ANCYL in Limpopo under the leadership of its provincial chairperson Tonny Rachoene has kept its promise of donating an electronic wheelchair to Tshegofatso Tema of Segopotje Senior Secondary School following their “Hashtag Half Klipa” back to school campaign.
Tshegofatso, a grade 11 pupil known as “D-Hun” to her classmates which means disabled honey will easily move around the school premises with her friends without being distressed or ask someone to assist her.
Rachoene said: “Jesus Christ said love your neighbours as you love yourselves. When God is with us, who will be against us therefore we must remain humble and love each other. We met her in January during our half klipa back to school Campaign and we committed ourselves that June must not cross before we change her life, from a manual wheelchair to an electronic wheelchair. Today we came back to deliver. The days where she'd get tired of pushing and thereafter require assistance are no more, she can now press and go. She has her own G-Wagon that can take her from A to B. We are grateful to our alMighty who keeps on transforming our hearts to do His work and emulate our saviour Jesus Christ.”
Earlier, Rachoene and his troops proved indeed that the battlefield is their dance floor by donating 10 laptops to Segopotje Senior Secondary School during their “Hashtag Half Klipa” back to school campaign.
Speaking to The Azanian, Rachoene said: “Today we have delivered, we only have 1 outstanding commitment to deliver to this school. We did identify a learner living with disability in this school and in 2 weeks, we will be back again here to deliver.”
Earlier, Rachoene donated a table tennis court to Lefa Maseko, a young person living with disability who is also a table tennis champion in Limpopo.
Rachoene told The Azanian that as part of the ANCYL disability Thursday’s program, they visited Motjedi Secondary School and donated the table tennis sport tools to the talented Maseko to motivate other players within the community.
While visiting Motjedi Secondary School in Motetema/ Tafelkop of Maseko, the ANCYL provincial chairperson also donated 10 Boxes of sanitary pads to pad up a girl child. Restoring the dignity of a black child is very paramount.
“Our mandate is to ensure that we boost young people to the best of our abilities. Our program of disability is to make sure that young people don’t lose hope because they are disabled. Being disabled doesn’t mean you can’t achieve your dreams or participate in sport or any activity. It is potent and imperative to understand that with God all things are possible for greater is He who lives in us against all odds. Therefore, you must never give up,” said Rachoene.
