In a heartwarming display of leadership and compassion, Limpopo MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure Tonny Rachoene has kicked off the new academic year with a bang, touching the lives of nearly 300 pupils in Sekhukhune District.
Rachoene led a back-to-school campaign at Nwanamatlang Secondary and Madibong English Medium Primary Schools in Jane Furse, handing over much-needed school shoes to eager learners. Accompanied by Makhuduthamaga Municipality Mayor Cllr Merah Mahlase and other councillors, the MEC's mission was clear: to make a difference in the lives of Limpopo's children.
"Education is the key to unlocking our province's potential," Rachoene said, as he was greeted by beaming smiles and grateful hugs from the pupils. "We are committed to supporting our learners, and this is just the beginning."
Rachoene's campaign continued at Solomon Mahlangu High School in Phagameng township, Modimmole, where the school achieved an impressive 85% matric pass rate in 2025.
The MEC was joined by Modimmole-Mokgophong Municipality Mayor Cllr Anna Mboweni and other dignitaries, who praised the school's remarkable turnaround since 2003.
"This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our teachers and learners," Rachoene said. "We will continue to support our schools and ensure that every child in Limpopo has access to quality education."
As the new academic year gets underway, Rachoene's message of hope and support has resonated with learners, teachers, and parents alike. It's clear that this MEC is committed to making a real difference in the lives of Limpopo's people.
