The Bolsheviks Party of South Africa has welcomed the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Municipality's decision to cut employment ties with municipal manager Mr. Makgata, citing allegations of crimes committed against the municipality during his tenure.
According to the party, Makgata has been "holding this municipality to ransom and running it like his own personal fiefdom".
The Bolsheviks Party clarified that the Makoti judgement, which ruled that Makgata was suspended for more time than permitted by law, does not affect the council's powers to hold the accounting officer accountable, including terminating employment ties. The party emphasized that the council's decision to lodge an application for leave to appeal suspends the operation and execution of the Makoti judgement.
The Bolsheviks Party emphasized its commitment to the rule of law and constitutionalism, urging all stakeholders to approach the matter without emotions. "We are a party that subscribes to the rule of law and constitutionalism. We cannot support the anarchy and collapse of our State institutions," the party stated.
The Bolsheviks Party also slammed the Democratic Alliance (DA) for attempting to politicize the issue, urging them to desist from such tactics. The party emphasized that the council's collective decision-making process is a cornerstone of democracy and should not be undermined by partisan politics.
The DA's sudden interest in protecting the municipal manager, Mogaramedi Makgata, raises questions about their motives. Are they genuinely concerned about the municipal manager's welfare, or is this just a ploy to further their political agenda? The DA's actions seem more like a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the real issues affecting the municipality.
The Bolsheviks Party's statement is a strong endorsement of the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Municipality's decision to take action against Makgata. The party's support for the municipality's decision reflects its commitment to good governance and accountability.
