Controversial North West businessman Brown Mogotsi has dropped a bombshell, alleging that ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula was involved in some shady dealings with convicted taxi boss Vusi Khekhe Mathibela.

According to Mogotsi, Mbalula traveled abroad with Mathibela days before the murder of businessman Wandile Bozwana and allegedly received R1 million from Bozwana that he hasn't repaid.

Mogotsi further claims that Mbalula benefited from tender kickbacks linked to his wife in Free State and that his luxurious lifestyle at the January 8 rally in Cape Town was financed by a foreign-owned company. These allegations have sparked intense debate, with many questioning Mbalula's leadership and integrity.

The ANC has confirmed that Mogotsi's membership has lapsed, but Mogotsi disputes this, claiming his membership is still active until the end of October. Mbalula has called for Mogotsi to be held accountable for his actions, emphasizing the need for distinguishability between revolutionaries and criminals.

As the story continues to unfold, one thing is clear: Mbalula's future hangs in the balance. The ANC has distanced itself from Mogotsi, stating that his membership expired in 2020 and hasn't been renewed. Mogotsi's allegations have also brought attention to his own controversies, including his implication in the Madlanga Commission over alleged links to Vusi Matlala and Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.
