The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo has taken a significant step to enhance its leadership capacity and improve service delivery with the promotion of 130 police officers.

The ceremony, held at Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane, was led by Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, who emphasized the importance of integrity, accountability, and professionalism in the newly promoted officers.

The promoted officers, comprising 14 colonels, 24 lieutenant colonels, 54 captains, and 38 warrant officers, will be placed in various stations, districts, and the provincial office.

They were urged to excel in their leadership roles, with Deputy Provincial Commissioners and District Commissioners emphasizing that promotion comes with increased responsibility and accountability.

Lieutenant General Hadebe highlighted the challenges facing Limpopo, including GBV&F, assault, commercial crime, and online scams, and called on the officers to remain committed to service above self and uphold the highest ethical standards.

She encouraged them to earn and sustain public trust through consistent and respectful interaction, work collaboratively with colleagues and partners, and embrace innovation and continuous learning.

The promotion is effective from February 2026, and the officers are expected to make a positive impact in their new roles, strengthening policing and responding effectively to evolving community needs.

The SAPS Limpopo is confident that the newly promoted officers will drive progress and prosperity in the province, building on the momentum of their predecessors.

The event was attended by senior officials, including Deputy Provincial Commissioners, District Commissioners, Station Commanders, and members of the media, who congratulated the newly promoted officers on their achievement. The SAPS Limpopo is committed to continuing its efforts to build a safer and more secure Limpopo for all. #SAPS #Limpopo #Leadership #ServiceDelivery
