The ANC Limpopo Province is set to host a pivotal provincial rally on Saturday, 11 April 2026, at Giyani Stadium, marking a crucial milestone in the party's preparations for the 2026 local government elections.
The event will launch the ANC Local Government Councillor Candidate Nomination Branch General Meetings and introduce the 11th Provincial Executive Committee (PEC).
Premier and Provincial Chairperson Dr. Phophi Ramathuba will address the gathering, outlining the party's vision and strategy for the upcoming elections. The event promises to be a significant moment in Limpopo's political calendar, with local artists and performers, including Makhadzi and Dr. Thomas Chauke, set to entertain the crowds.
Gates will open at 08h00, with the main programme kicking off at 10h00. Provincial Spokesperson Tonny Rachoene emphasized the importance of the event, saying, "This is a crucial moment for our party as we gear up for the 2026 elections. We are committed to working with our communities to build a better Limpopo for all."
The rally is part of the ANC's 2026 Year of Decisive Action to fix local government and transform the economy. With the theme "Fixing Local Government, Transforming the Economy", the party aims to reconnect with its grassroots support base and chart a new course for the province.
As the province's premier and ANC provincial chairperson, Dr. Ramathuba is expected to use the platform to galvanize support for the party's candidates and outline her vision for Limpopo's future. The event is likely to draw large crowds, with ANC members and supporters eager to hear from their leader and show their support for the party.
The introduction of the 11th PEC will also provide an opportunity for the party to showcase its new leadership and signal its commitment to renewal and rejuvenation. With the elections just around the corner, the stakes are high, and the ANC is pulling out all the stops to ensure a strong showing in Limpopo.
As the countdown begins, Provincial Spokesperson Tonny Rachoene is urging all ANC members and supporters to come out in force and participate in the rally. "This is a momentous occasion, and we invite all Limpopo residents to join us as we launch our campaign for the 2026 elections," he said.
The event is set to be a resounding success, with the ANC confident of securing a strong mandate from the people of Limpopo. With Dr. Ramathuba at the helm, the party is poised to take Limpopo forward, united and unstoppable.
