In a resounding celebration of academic triumph, Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) Mayor, Cllr Eddie Maila, touted to the ANC Limpopo Provincial Treasurer recently lauded the Sekhukhune East District's remarkable 86.7% matric pass rate, solidifying its position as Limpopo Province's most improved district for the second consecutive year.

The Mayor's Mayoral Top Achievers Lunch, held in Burgersfort, brought together top learners, educators, and stakeholders to acknowledge the collective effort driving this milestone.

Mayor Maila's keynote address was a clarifying moment, underscoring the municipality's commitment to education as a cornerstone of socio-economic development. "Our improved matric results signal a decisive shift away from historical challenges," he declared, outlining plans to intensify engagement with education circuits to bolster academic support and address challenges proactively.

The spotlight shone bright on Bogwasha Circuit, hailed as Limpopo Province's most improved circuit, with schools achieving a 100% pass rate basking in the glory of excellence. Mayor Maila's call to action was clear: sustain this momentum, focusing on quality passes in critical subjects like Mathematics and Physical Science.

As the province's education landscape transforms, Mayor Maila's leadership shines through. Since 2021, his office has donated school uniforms to over 400 learners, while the Mayoral Bursary Fund has supported 80 deserving students.

This is governance with a human face, investing in the future of FTLM's youth.
