Polokwane Executive Mayor and ANC Peter Mokaba Region Chairperson, John Mpe, is making waves in his community with the Makoro John Mpe Foundation's latest initiatives.

The foundation recently hosted the 6th edition of the Makoro Village Marathon and Soccer Tournament, as well as the Makoro Music Festival, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium Executive Lounge.

These events aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle, encourage youth participation in sports, and provide a platform for local artists to showcase their talents.

The foundation's efforts have been praised by the community, with many applauding Mpe's commitment to preserving culture and creating opportunities within the creative industry.

Mpe's dedication to public service is rooted in his personal experiences of poverty and inequality, growing up with a mother who was a domestic worker. This fueled his determination to fight against apartheid and later, to serve his community as a leader.

As Executive Mayor of Polokwane, Mpe has led initiatives to improve infrastructure, create jobs, and diversify energy sources. He's also worked to strengthen community engagement, ensuring that residents' voices are heard in decision-making processes.

The community remains supportive of Mpe, praising his efforts to uplift Polokwane's residents. The Seshego Stadium, which Mpe helped revive, is now hosting professional PSL matches after 23 years, bringing joy to local football fans.

As Mpe continues to lead Polokwane, his commitment to public service and community development remains unwavering. His story serves as an inspiration to many, demonstrating the impact one person can have on their community.
