Autocratic motormouth flip flop of note Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema is gunning for uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party leader Jacob Zuma ahead of the much-anticipated EFF’s national elective conference in December this year.
Malema who is facing exodus of top leadership in the EFF following the departure of his former deputy Floyd Shivambu now MK Party secretary general and EFF former chairperson Dali Mpofu has has instructed his party’s lawyers to attach former President Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla home over the money he owes the EFF. Malema’s party lost its position as the third largest political party in the country to MK Party making the EFF to become the fourth party after the provincial and national elections in May 29, 2024.
Tyrannical EFF commander in chief said Zuma used the money to pay lawyers in several of his legal challenges.
“Fighters, all the cases we won against Jacob Zuma, he never paid the legal fees. Zuma is owing us the legal fees. We’ve got an order that he must pay us our money because we’re defeating him in court. Now he has not complied with that order of paying our money. We just instructed our lawyer to go and attach a gun so that the man pays back our money,” said Malema when addressing EFF members who marched to the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg recently calling for accountability in the Phala Phala farm scandal theft case.
He also told EFF supporters that President Cyril Ramaphosa is corrupt just like Zuma therefore EFF members will not be misled. “Comrades, we are going to fight corruption during Zuma, even after Zuma. Zuma is corrupt. We were not misled about the corruption of Zuma. Cyril Ramaphosa is corrupt. We are not misled about the corruption of Cyril Ramaphosa,” said the embattled EFF Malema calling for equal treatment under the law.
“Because 10 million was found in his office. A president cannot stash 10 million under his sofa and is not punished for that. Every president must be held responsible. Every president must be accountable. We did the same thing with Jacob Zuma. When he spent money on Nkandla, we took him to the Constitutional Court, and they said he must pay back the money. The same thing must happen to Ramaphosa."
The EFF argued that the National Assembly’s rejection of the Independent Panel Report, led by Judge Sandile Ngcobo, was unjust.
The much-censured report found prima facie evidence suggesting President Ramaphosa had a case to answer about the millions of US dollars discovered at his Phala Phala farm in Limpopo.
Malema and his party claims that the National Assembly acted unreasonably by stalling further investigation into the prima facie findings of the Independent Panel.
The party said further that the Assembly unheeded the report’s decisions without providing an accurate or legal basis for doing so.
Malema’s party further alleged that the ruling party used its figures in the National Assembly to shield Ramaphosa from accountability, effectively undermining Parliament’s constitutional mandate to hold the President accountable.
The National Assembly previously voted against espousing the Section 89 Panel Report.
Malema also lambasted Zuma when addressing EFF members during the party’s Gauteng provincial assembly.
“Why would you want to close the EFF for a spaza shop with expired food? This movement, with such a huge infrastructure, with an office owned by this organisation, with farms belonging to this organisation, with members belonging to this organisation, with houses built for ordinary people by this organisation, with students who were taken to school by this organisation.
“You wake up one morning and say to all those children, the organisation you committed that when you grow up you are going to vote for is no more. We would have sold the future generation. We are not going to sell the future generation for the dreams of an 82-year-old man who is corrupt to the core,” said Malema.
