In a stunning display of parliamentary prowess, EFF leader Julius Malema has once again proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the corridors of power.

During a tense hearing of the Ad Hoc Committee investigating alleged police capture, Malema's sharp legal mind and quick thinking saved the day, ensuring that the committee adhered to the proper procedures.

The committee was set to grill KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi over his statement and oath. However, Malema raised a crucial point of order, arguing that Mkhwanazi's statement was not properly before the committee.

The statement in question was from the Madlanga Commission, and Malema insisted that the committee needed an original statement from Mkhwanazi, specifically directed to Parliament.

Malema's argument was straightforward: "Because he must first depose to us a statement, and if there is anything to be supplemented, it should be done so. The statement we have is a statement he deposed to the commission. We have said to this legal team, time and again, that we are not a junior committee of the commission."

The EFF leader emphasized that Parliament must create its own record, independent from the Madlanga Commission. He suggested that the committee could ask Mkhwanazi to amend the statement to direct it to Parliament, but without an original statement, the proceedings would be flawed.

Malema's intervention was a masterclass in parliamentary procedure, highlighting the importance of adhering to the rules and maintaining the independence of Parliament. His arguments were persuasive, and the committee chair, Soviet Lekganyane, ultimately agreed to break and determine whether the mistakes on the document were correctable.

Malema's actions have earned him widespread praise, and rightly so. His dedication to upholding the principles of parliamentary democracy is commendable, and his expertise in parliamentary procedure is unmatched.

The Azanian salute Malema for his outstanding work. He has truly saved the day, and his efforts will not go unnoticed. We look forward to seeing more of his brilliant interventions in the future.

The Ad Hoc Committee's investigation into alleged police capture has been a contentious issue, with many calling for greater accountability and transparency within the police service. Malema's intervention has ensured that the committee adheres to the proper procedures, and the public can have confidence in the integrity of the investigation.

The outcome of the committee's investigation remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Malema has proven himself to be a champion of parliamentary democracy, and his contributions will be invaluable in the days ahead.
