Limpopo Health MEC Dieketseng Mashego is making waves at the National Health Council meeting in Johannesburg.
Accompanied by Head of Department Dr. Ndwamato NN, Mashego is representing Limpopo's health interests alongside national and provincial health leaders.
The two-day meeting, chaired by Minister of Health Aaron Motsoaledi and Deputy Minister Joe Phaahla, focuses on critical health priorities, including the national Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy, Mental Health Review Boards, and National Health Insurance (NHI) implementation.
Mashego's attendance underscores her commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in Limpopo, particularly in rural areas. Her leadership has been praised for addressing systemic challenges and enhancing accountability.
Notably, Mashego has secured an unqualified audit opinion for the department, building on the foundation laid by her predecessor, Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, now the Limpopo Premier.
Mashego's vision for Limpopo's healthcare is clear: "This gathering was not just a formality. It was a platform to critically reflect, recalibrate our priorities, and recommit ourselves to the people of Limpopo." Her dedication to improving healthcare services has inspired hope and optimism in the province.
