Limpopo Health MEC Dieketseng Mashego has hit the ground running, inspecting flood-damaged infrastructure in Waterberg District as part of the provincial government's relief efforts.
Mashego, a champion of the District Development Model, was deployed by Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba to assess the damage and coordinate support for affected communities.
The MEC's oversight visit took her to the severely flooded Aventura pump station, damaged roads and housing infrastructure at Zuma View, and Bela Bela hospital. Mashego was accompanied by local officials, including the Speaker of the Municipality, Cllr Zikhali, and Chairperson of MPAC, Cllr Rapuru.
"Bela-Bela Municipality has managed to restore water and electricity supply to affected communities and is making steady progress in repairing access roads," Mashego's team reported.
The visit underscores the government's commitment to swift recovery and coordinated support for flood-stricken areas.
Mashego's hands-on approach has earned praise from stakeholders, who commend her dedication to improving healthcare services in Limpopo.
