Social Development Minister Sisi Tolashe is facing heat over the use of two BAIC Beijing X55 SUVs purportedly donated to the ANC Women's League.
ActionSA MP Dereleen James has filed criminal charges against Tolashe, accusing her of misleading Parliament about the source and use of the luxury vehicles.
James alleges Tolashe failed to declare the vehicles, valued at around R1 million, and misled Parliament about their origin.
The ANC has distanced itself from the alleged donation, with senior officials claiming no knowledge of the vehicles. Tolashe's explanation has been challenged, and ActionSA is calling for her immediate dismissal.
The controversy centers around two SUVs, one white and one yellow, reportedly given to Tolashe by Chinese officials. James says the minister's actions are unacceptable and warrant investigation.
"The purpose of this apparent 'gift' requires urgent investigation," she said.
ActionSA is also seeking Tolashe's dismissal and has laid complaints with the Public Protector and Parliament's Ethics Committee.
