Pretoria –The City of Tshwane celebrated a landmark moment in public transport when Councillor Tlangi Mogale, MMC for Roads & Transport, launched the Denneboom Intermodal Facility in Mamelodi Region 6, igniting a new era of mobility for the community.
Mogale expressed great pleasure in unveiling the much‑anticipated extension of the A Re Yeng to the sprawling Mamelodi township. “The Denneboom Intermodal Facility will go a long way in optimising the flow of traffic and modernising the systems of movement between the city and surrounding townships,” she said, highlighting the facility’s critical role in the city’s public transport network.
The state‑of‑the‑art transport hub integrates key routes – including trunk lines linking Menlyn, Mahube Valley, and Wonderboom – allowing commuters to travel more efficiently and reach their destinations on time. “By creating this transport hub, we are connecting communities and opening opportunities for better, faster movement across the city,” Mogale added.
Mogale emphasised her commitment to inclusive transport, championing Universal Access initiatives that make public infrastructure welcoming for persons with disabilities, the elderly, parents with young children, and all commuters needing extra support. “We are resolving the Apartheid Spatial Planning legacy by making transport seamless between cities, townships and villages,” she declared, showcasing her dedication to equitable service delivery.
The launch was hailed as a triumph of visionary leadership, positioning Mogale as a driving force behind Mamelodi’s transformation. Community leaders praised the MMC for her relentless focus on improving lives through better transport services.
