Services SETA Administrator Lehlogonolo Masoga has been honoured as Tshwane University of Technology Faculty of Humanities Alumnus of the Year 2025.

The prestigious award was conferred on Thursday, 16 October 2026, at the Faculty of Humanities Academic Excellence Awards held at Protea Hotel Fire & Ice, Summit Place Precinct, 221 Garsfontein Road, Menlyn, Pretoria.

This is the highest honour TUT bestows on its former students — reserved for graduates whose work embodies the university's motto, "We empower people."

For Masoga, the honour is personal. TUT is his alma mater. It is where his journey in public leadership began, and now it has come full circle, with the university formally recognizing him as a leading example of integrity, service and impact.

Executive Dean Prof. Mashupye Maserumule, said Masoga's contributions to public leadership in various sectors of South Africa highlight the significant role you have played in building a capable and developmental state. "Your achievements truly reflect the university's commitment to developing graduates who lead with integrity, serve with purpose, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others," added Prof Maserumule.

On stage that night, the Services SETA Boss was beaming — smart, humble, shaking hands with university leadership as applause filled the hall.

The trophy he received says it all: Tshwane University of Technology — We empower people — Faculty of Humanities Academic Excellence Awards — Alumnus of the Year — Matjie Lehlogonolo Alfred Masoga 2025.

Why Masoga? Because his story is TUT's story. From a student in the Faculty of Humanities to one of the most trusted administrators in the public sector, Masoga has built a career defined by service. As Services SETA Administrator, appointed to stabilize the largest SETA in the country, he carries the enormous responsibility of restoring governance, driving skills development, and opening opportunities for thousands of young South Africans. TUT saw that. And TUT honoured that.

In a country where public institutions are often in the news for the wrong reasons, TUT chose to celebrate a leader who represents the right reasons — capability, integrity and commitment to the developmental state.

This is not just an award for one man. It is a statement to every current TUT student: that a degree from TUT can take you to the highest levels of national leadership, and that your university will walk that journey with you and celebrate you when you get there.

The Azanian joins the Tshwane University of Technology in congratulating Services SETA Administrator Lehlogonolo Masoga — Alumnus of the Year 2025, a son of TUT, a servant of the people, and a proud embodiment of "We empower people."

Salute to the SETA Boss. The honour is well deserved.
