In the heart of Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality, nestled in Limpopo's Sekhukhune District, a remarkable transformation is unfolding in Moteti Village.


Road improvements are advancing smoothly, with the project currently standing at an impressive 55% completion. This ambitious undertaking involves upgrading the internal gravel road to a paved surface, coupled with the installation of a vital stormwater control system.


Under the visionary leadership of Mayor Cllr David Tladi - who also serves as the ANC Sekhukhune Region Deputy Chairperson - Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality is demonstrating a steadfast commitment to enhancing community infrastructure and quality of life. Mayor Tladi's focus on tangible service delivery has positioned Moteti Village as a testament to the municipality's dedication to upliftment.


Speaking on behalf of the municipality, spokesperson Simon Makua highlighted that the finished project, slated for delivery by the end of November, is expected to significantly enhance accessibility and safety for villagers. "The upgrade will make a real difference in the lives of our residents," Makua said, underscoring the importance of such infrastructure developments.


Beyond the tangible benefits of better roads, the project has also had a positive impact on local employment. Makua noted that 12 locals have benefitted from work opportunities created since the project's inception, injecting much-needed economic activity into the community.


The Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality, named after struggle hero Elias Motsoaledi, has been proactive in addressing community needs. The municipality's efforts align with broader government priorities like the Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG), aimed at improving infrastructure in underserved areas.
