In a crucial moment of pre-conference negotiations, the African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo is laying the groundwork for a unified approach ahead of the upcoming local elections.

As delegates engage in talks, the sense of anticipation is palpable – and unity is the buzzword.

Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba is likely to lead the team as Provincial Chairperson, with Polokwane Executive Mayor and Peter Mokaba Regional Chairperson John Mpe as her deputy. Ruben Madadzhe is expected to remain as Provincial Secretary, while Mopani Region's Pule Shai could serve as Deputy Secretary. FetakgomoTubatse Mayor Eddie Maila is in the mix for Provincial Treasurer.

As the party navigates these pre-conference talks, the focus is on building cohesion and setting the stage for a strong showing in the local elections. With the ANC having secured 74% of the vote in the previous elections, there's a sense of optimism about the party's chances.

"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." - Nelson Mandela's words resonate as the Limpopo ANC seeks to rise above divisions and chart a united path.

The hashtag #AYIHLONE reflects the party's focus on unity and self-reflection. As one stakeholder put it, "These talks are about getting our house in order, so we can deliver for the people."

Limpopo's pre-conference negotiations could set the tone for the March conference – and the road ahead. With unity on the agenda, the Limpopo ANC is poised to take on the challenges and deliver on its promise.
