ZUMA'S ATTACK ON TRUTH: Lawyers Defend Scandalous Smear Against Justice Khampepe

In a shocking display of entitlement and disdain for the rule of law, former President Jacob Zuma's lawyers have defended the strong language used to describe Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) chair Justice Sisi Khampepe.

Zuma and former President Thabo Mbeki's attempt to recuse Khampepe from the TRC inquiry is nothing but a desperate attempt to avoid accountability for their apartheid-era crimes.

The duo's application is based on flimsy grounds, citing Khampepe's role as a commissioner in the original TRC and her stint as deputy director of public prosecutions in the 1990s. But it's clear that Zuma's real motivation is revenge against the judge who sent him to prison in 2021.

Khampepe's integrity and impartiality are unquestionable, and it's time Zuma and Mbeki faced the music for their crimes. The people of South Africa demand justice, not impunity for former leaders.

The Azanian stands with Justice Khampepe and the TRC, and we will continue to expose Zuma's attempts to undermine the truth and reconciliation process.
