A Heartfelt Tribute: Mayor Eddie Maila's SOLMA Address

During his State of the Local Municipality Address (SOLMA), Fetakgomo Tubatse Mayor Eddie Maila took a moment to express his sincere gratitude to Regional Secretary Cde Tala Mathope for his pivotal role in ensuring that services are provided to communities within the municipality.
Mayor Maila praised Cde Tala's leadership and commended him for his tireless efforts in guiding councillors to meet with communities, account for their work, and provide feedback on issues raised.
The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including the Speaker of Council Cllr Shoba, MV Kgoshikgolo Queen Leganabatho Manyaku Thulare, MEC of Public Works, Infrastructure and Roads Honourable Ernest Rachweni, Member of Provincial Legislature Honourable Chorries Phokane, Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Municipality Cllr Minah Bahula, Mayor of Makhuduthamaga Local Municipality Cllr Merah Mahlase, Mayor of Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality Cllr Magetle Tladi, and Mayor of Ephraim Mogale Cllr Given Moimana.
Mayor Maila highlighted the importance of collaborative governance in delivering services to the people. He noted that wards that have engaged with Cde Tala have shown improvements, and urged him to continue providing guidance to lead communities with respect and humility. "As deployees of ANC in the Municipal Council, Cde Tala has played a pivotal role in ensuring that services are provided in our communities," Mayor Maila said.

In his remarks, Mayor Maila also acknowledged the importance of intergovernmental relations in delivering services to the people. He thanked the MEC of Public Works, Infrastructure and Roads, Honourable Ernest Rachweni, for his support and cooperation.
In a poignant moment, Mayor Maila paid tribute to the late Cllr Makgalema Lennox Thobela, the former Ward 34 Councillor who passed away recently. He expressed condolences to the family and paid tribute to the late Tshepiso Maduwane, a Special Programmes Officer in the Office of the Mayor, and Joshua Leutle, an Assistant Superintendent in the Traffic management unit. "Their memories shall be with us forever, and may their souls continue to rest in eternal peace," Mayor Maila said, concluding with a traditional phrase, "Re a leboga Pula."
The presence of dignitaries and guests underscored the importance of collaborative governance and the municipality's commitment to serving its communities. Mayor Maila expressed his gratitude to all who attended the SOLMA, including traditional leaders, members of the executive committee, chairpersons of MPAC, councillors, and senior managers.
Mayor Maila's SOLMA address was a testament to the municipality's commitment to transparency, accountability, and service delivery. The event provided a platform for the municipality to report on its progress, challenges, and future plans, and to engage with the community and stakeholders.
