In a poignant display of leadership and compassion, ANC Peter Mokaba Regional Chairperson Polokwane Municipality's Executive Mayor, Cllr Makoro John Mpe, led a delegation of councillors to the home of the grieving Modiba family, bringing solace and support in a time of unimaginable loss.

The family is mourning the untimely passing of their beloved son, Ward 34 Councillor, Cllr Daniel Modiba, a dedicated public servant and pillar of the community.

As the Mayor and councillors arrived at the family home, the atmosphere was heavy with grief, but it was soon filled with the sweet melody of hymns, as they joined the family in singing "Anthe Jesu O Na Mpona". The letter-writing Mayor, Cllr Makoro John Mpe, and his team sang with conviction, allowing the warmth of faith to envelop the family in their darkest hour.

In a remarkable display of humility, the Mayor and councillors chose to stand with the Modiba family, not as politicians and officials, but as brothers and sisters, sharing in their sorrow and offering words of comfort. The visit was a testament to the strong bond between the municipality and the community, and a tribute to the life and service of Cllr Daniel Modiba.

Through song, reflection, and prayer, the leadership of Polokwane Municipality demonstrated that they are committed to standing with their citizens, even in the most difficult of times. The town of Polokwane mourns with the Modiba family, and may they find peace and comfort in the days ahead.

May the soul of Cllr Daniel Modiba rest in eternal peace.
