Dr Norman Mabasa

By Mpho Dube, Editor-in-Chief of The Azanian

I'm still trying to come to terms with the news of Dr Norman Mabasa's passing. As a friend and one of his patients, I had the privilege of experiencing his kindness, compassion, and expertise firsthand.

Dr Mabasa was more than just a doctor; he was a trusted advisor, a mentor, and a friend.

I'll miss our calls and talks, where he'd offer his characteristic frankness and advice. But most of all, I'll miss his laughter - that warm, infectious sound that could light up a room. Dr Mabasa had a way of making you feel seen and heard, and his dedication to his patients was unwavering.

Dr Mabasa's contributions to the medical field are well-documented, but it's his impact on the lives of those who knew him that will be truly remembered. He was a good man, a kind soul, and a true friend. His warmth, empathy, and generosity inspired countless individuals, and his memory will live on through the lives he touched.

The Azanian joins the medical fraternity and the community in mourning the loss of Dr Norman Mabasa. His legacy will continue to inspire us, and his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. May his family find strength and comfort in the love and support that surrounds them during this difficult time.
