ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula.
ANC members in the Peter Mokaba Region are up in arms against the region's Task Team, accusing them of destroying the party by allowing irregularities to occur under their leadership. The members have expressed their discontentment and disappointment, citing the team's failure to address branch registration issues and disputes.
The ANC members said that the Task Team has allowed parallel branches with questionable Branch General Meetings (BGMs) to mushroom in the region. These fake parallel structures have been created through unorthodox means, including the scanning of IDs of members not present at BGMs and even the scanning of deceased individuals' IDs to reach quorum.
Out of 103 branches that qualified in the Peter Mokaba Region, 49 branches are disputed due to failure to adhere to BGM guidelines, parallel packages, and other irregularities.
The ANC members are calling for the dismissal of the Peter Mokaba Region Task Team, citing gross violations of the ANC constitution. They demand that ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula takes decisive action to address these issues and charge the Task Team with misconduct.
The ANC members have also demanded that the upcoming conference, scheduled for this weekend, be postponed. They argue that the conference cannot proceed under the current circumstances, where the legitimacy of the delegates and the branches they represent are in question.
This is not the first time the ANC in Limpopo has faced internal disputes. Recently, the party's Veterans League and ANC Youth League joined forces to demand disciplinary action against former MP Boy Mamabolo for insulting and questioning the moral standing of ANCWL NEC member Onnica Kwakwa.
The ANC members' discontent reflects a deeper crisis within the party. "We can no longer trust the Task Team to lead our region. They have failed to uphold the values and principles of our party, and it's time for them to go," said disgruntled ANC members.
Meanwhile The Azanian can confirm to its readers and followers that their key demands are;
*The ANC members demand that the Peter Mokaba Region Task Team be dismissed immediately.
*The members call for disciplinary action against the Task Team for grossly violating the ANC constitution.
*The conference scheduled for this weekend should be postponed until the issues are resolved.
*A new Task Team should be appointed to oversee the region's affairs and ensure the party's values and principles are upheld.
