ANC Sekhukhune Region Tala Mathope
The ANC Sekhukhune Region, led by Regional Secretary Tala Mathope, recently visited St John Apostolic Church in Manapyane village, Ward 09 of the Ephraim Mogale Sub-region.
Mathope's actions demonstrate his commitment to the community and his role as a leader who cares about the well-being of his constituents. His visit to the church shows that the ANC is dedicated to supporting the community beyond just election periods.
By donating chairs and addressing the church's needs, Mathope is showing that the ANC values the community's religious and cultural practices and is committed to supporting them in meaningful ways.
The region is preparing for by-elections scheduled for September 17, 2025.
During the visit, the ANC donated over 200 chairs to the church, demonstrating its commitment to community support.
Tala Mathope was accompanied by key figures, including Regional Treasury and Mayor of Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality, Given Moimana, as well as leaders from the ANC leagues, alliance partners, and the MKLWV. The purpose of the visit was multifaceted.
"We have come to fulfill our ordinary visit to churches in the region, which we started in 2022," Mathope explained. "Given the recent loss of former councillors in this ward and the upcoming by-elections, we request special prayers for our councillor candidate, Collins Maleswena. May he be protected by the Holy Spirit so that what happened here does not repeat itself."

During the visit, Mathope also addressed some of the church's pressing needs. Noting the frustrations with water supply, he mentioned that the government is working on a borehole nearby and requested that a tap be installed closer to the church and surrounding households.
Additionally, he observed that the church's electric wiring was not up to standard and directed artisans to come and assist, emphasizing the importance of avoiding any risk of the church burning down.
The leadership of St John Apostolic Church expressed gratitude for the ANC's intervention, appreciating both the donation of chairs and the commitment to addressing their needs. The ANC's actions reflect its dedication to community support and engagement. As the region prepares for the by-elections, the ANC's commitment to its candidates and constituents remains a priority.
The donation and support provided by the ANC Sekhukhune Region are a testament to the party's ongoing efforts to engage with and support local communities. With the church's support, the ANC is poised to strengthen its relationship with the community and work towards a brighter future for all.
