"DA's Politicking Won't Sway the Truth: Defending the Mayor and Council's Collective Decision"

Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) Mayor Eddie Maila

The Democratic Alliance's (DA) recent call for an investigation into Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) Mayor Eddie Maila and Council Speaker Vincent Shoba's involvement in the municipal manager's suspension is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to score political points.

The DA's assertion that Mayor Maila is a "law unto himself" is a gross misrepresentation of the facts. The council, comprising various political parties, took a collective decision to suspend the municipal manager, and it is disingenuous to single out the mayor for blame. The council is in charge, not the mayor, and the DA should refrain from playing the man instead of the ball.

The DA's statement is replete with unsubstantiated claims and accusations, clearly aimed at politicking and scoring points against the ANC. However, the council consists of multiple political parties, and it is unfair to attribute the decisions to one party alone. The DA should desist from such tactics and focus on constructive criticism.

The DA's sudden interest in protecting the municipal manager, Mogaramedi Makgata, raises questions about their motives. Are they genuinely concerned about the municipal manager's welfare, or is this just a ploy to further their political agenda? The DA's actions seem more like a desperate attempt to deflect attention from the real issues affecting the municipality.

We know that Marie Helm, the DA's Political Head for FTLM, was merely a conveyer belt for the real author of this statement. Sources close to the matter reveal that a conflicted member of the provincial legislature is behind the statement, attempting to champion their personal interests by misleading the people of Fetakgomo-Tubatse.

It's worth noting that the DA in Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality is represented by only two councillors, not the conflicted member of the provincial legislature who thinks they can dictate the narrative. We will not be fooled by their antics, and the truth will ultimately prevail.

"We condemn the DA's attempts to misrepresent the facts and score political points. The council's collective decision-making process is a cornerstone of our democracy, and we will not let the DA's politicking undermine this. We call on the DA to focus on constructive criticism and work towards the betterment of our municipality, rather than engaging in baseless accusations and point-scoring. The truth will come to light, and those who are plotting against our municipality will be exposed," warned ANC sources.

The people of Fetakgomo-Tubatse demand better governance, transparency, and accountability from their leaders. It's time for the DA to join hands with other stakeholders to build a better future for our municipality, rather than engaging in destructive politicking. The truth will ultimately prevail, and justice will be served.
