Ekurhuleni Mayor Snubs Service Providers Despite Rendering Services

Updated: Oct 2

The City of Ekurhuleni Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza.

HOD  Thokozani Maseko.

The City of Ekurhuleni under its leadership Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has put the ANC into disrepute by failing to pay service provider for water drinking supply despite several attempts to remedy the situation.

Mayor Xhakaza administration has failed to adhere to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s 7th administration call and Premier Panyaza Lusufi’s mission that service providers must never be subjected to atrocities after rendering services to the government.

The City of Ekurhuleni has been seen as the economic anchorage to emancipate its residence from all forms of depression however Mayor Xhakaza is singing a different tune that might cause the ANC voters in the next coming elections.

Thokozani Maseko who took up the reins as Head of the Department in 2022 failed to  bring a wealth of experience gained through the ranks in the local government sector and within the department.

He is found wanting for failing to drive the overall optimisation of the water management value chain, through effective strategic planning, directing and alignment of functional management frameworks and operational delivery. Maseko has been accused of being reluctant to execute his duties geared to provide   departmental oversight and the executive management of the provision of water infrastructure services in the City of Ekurhuleni.

The Azanian has been reliably informed that Xhakaza and his administration are on holiday and have neglected their duties instead of paying service providers who are up in arms with their employees because of payments debacles orchestrated by Mayor Xhakaza and his administration.

At the time of going to print, The Azanian didn’t receive any response from Xhakaza and Maseko despite several attempts to contact them.
