Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy leader Kenny Kunene underfire.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has launched a scathing attack on Patriotic Alliance (PA) deputy leader Kenny Kunene, accusing him of lying about his connection to murder suspect Katiso "KT" Molefe. EFF leader Julius Malema didn't mince words, comparing Kunene to notorious "26, 28 gang thugs" and alleging that Kunene's story is riddled with inconsistencies.

The controversy erupted after Kunene was found at Molefe's home during a police raid. Molefe is accused of masterminding the murder of popular DJ Sumbody, a case that has been shrouded in mystery for nearly three years. Kunene's presence at the scene has raised more questions than answers, with many demanding clarity on his involvement.

In response to the allegations, PA leader Gayton McKenzie has suspended Kunene for a month pending an investigation. The party's decision to take swift action has been seen as a bid to distance itself from Kunene's alleged wrongdoing.

Malema wasted no time in piling on the pressure, saying, "They're criminals... He says he doesn't know that guy; he knows that guy." The EFF leader questioned Kunene's credibility, stating, "It's a pure lie, and that's how thugs 26, 28 gangs succeed. They lie, they think they can outsmart everyone. Kenny's story is not coming together."

As the investigation unfolds, Kunene's future in politics hangs precariously in the balance. The EFF's demands for accountability and transparency have sparked a heated debate about the role of public figures in society.
