Leader of Bolsheviks Party General Secretary Seun Mogotji expressed his concern over the unfair dismissal of a security officer employed by Marebole Security Solutions, which renders security services at Ephraim Mogale Local Municipality.

According to Mogotji, the security officer was dismissed despite providing a sick note and a covering letter from the doctor. The Azanian saw the documents.

Mogotji stated, "A security officer employed by a Marebole Security Solutions rendering security services at your municipality has been unfairly dismissed by the company, and we are convinced the dismissal is in contravention of the labour laws." He emphasized that the company's actions are unacceptable and that intervention is necessary to rectify the situation.

The security company cited an error on the sick note, which had a 2024 stamp instead of the correct year. However, Mogotji pointed out that the doctor who attended to the employee corrected the error and provided a covering letter confirming the employee's visit. Mogotji questioned, "Does the security service provider with a three weeks PSIRA certificate know better than a medical professional who studied at university for seven years?"

Mogotji urged the Municipal Manager to intervene and ensure the employee's reinstatement. He stated, "Please intervene and make sure the lady is reinstated, otherwise more people will be subjected to this abuse right under your noses." Mogotji emphasized that the Municipality's intervention would send a message to the security company that labour laws must be followed.

The unfair dismissal of the security officer highlights the need for greater scrutiny of labour practices in the security industry. As Mogotji noted, "No one is above the law," and it is essential that companies adhere to labour laws and respect the rights of their employees. The Municipality's response to this situation will be closely watched, and it is hoped that they will take swift action to address the issue.
