Limpopo is moving from boardroom to ground, and the people are invited to walk with their leaders.
Limpopo Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba and Polokwane Executive Mayor Cllr Makoro John Mpe will on Wednesday, 16 September 2026 at 10h00, undertake a massive Projects Visit in the City Cluster to assess progress and directly engage communities on key development initiatives.
The meeting point is the New Council Chamber, Jack Botes.
Members of the public, stakeholders and the media are warmly invited to join the visit and witness government delivery in action.
This is not a ceremonial drive-through. This is an accountability mission where political power meets community power.
What makes this visit historic is who is leading it.
Dr Phophi Ramathuba is not just the Premier of Limpopo. She is the first female Premier of Limpopo in the history of the province, a medical doctor by profession, and the ANC Limpopo Provincial Chairperson.
She holds both state power and political power. Known for her no-nonsense, hands-on leadership, she has built a reputation for showing up unannounced — in hospitals, in clinics, on project sites — without sirens, without protocol, demanding answers on behalf of the people.
By her side will be Polokwane Executive Mayor Cllr Makoro John Mpe — the ANC Limpopo Deputy Provincial Chairperson and former Chairperson of the powerful ANC Peter Mokaba Region, the largest and most decisive region in the province.
Cllr Mpe is the man behind the "Reaga Polokwane" turnaround campaign that has seen the capital city fight back against dirt, darkness, and decay.
Together, they are the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the ANC in Limpopo. When the Chair and her Deputy walk together in the capital, it is a clear message: Polokwane must work, and Limpopo will be governed from the ground, not from offices.
The City Cluster is the heartbeat of Polokwane and the economic engine of Limpopo. It houses government offices, business hubs, and thousands of families. For years, residents have raised painful but honest concerns — stalled infrastructure projects, water challenges, roads that need attention, housing delivery that must move faster.
This joint visit is designed to answer the questions citizens have been asking in taxi ranks, in churches, in community meetings: What was promised? What has been delivered? What is left and when will it be finished?
According to the joint communique from the Limpopo Provincial Government and the City of Polokwane, the leaders will physically inspect projects, engage contractors, talk to residents, and give direct feedback. There will be no hiding behind reports.
This is the leadership style President Ramaphosa has called for and that the people of Limpopo have demanded — leadership that walks.
Weak leaders send convoys. Strong leaders show up.
Premier Ramathuba and Mayor Mpe have both proven that they believe service delivery is not a favour, it is a constitutional right. Their joint appearance signals unity between province and municipality, between the ANC and government, between promise and delivery.
The theme of the day is powerful in its simplicity: "Be part of the journey. See progress. Experience delivery."
This is a call for active citizenry. Government is saying — come and see for yourself. Verify. Question. Contribute.
