Polokwane - The ANC's Peter Mokaba Regional Chairperson and Executive Mayor of Polokwane, Cde Makoro John Mpe, has delivered a powerful message of unity and safety to the transport sector, calling for collaboration to make roads safer for all.

Speaking at the SANTACO National Prayer Day held at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Mayor Mpe emphasized the importance of working together to address the scourge of road accidents and promote a culture of safety on our roads.

"As leaders, we have a responsibility to ensure that our roads are safe for all users," Mayor Mpe said. "We must work together to promote a culture of safety, respect, and responsibility on our roads."

Mayor Mpe's message was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Transport, Hon. Mkhuleko Hlengwa, who praised the Mayor's commitment to improving road safety in the province.

"SANTACO has taken a bold step in promoting road safety and we commend Mayor Mpe for his leadership and vision," Deputy Minister Hlengwa said.

Also present at the event were Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Hon. Violet Mathye, and SANTACO President Motlhabane Abnar Tsebe, who pledged their support for the Mayor's initiative.

The SANTACO National Prayer Day was attended by thousands of transport operators, drivers, and stakeholders, who came together to pray for safer roads and to promote a culture of safety and respect on our roads.

Mayor Mpe's message of unity and safety has been widely praised, with many hailing him as a champion of road safety in the province.

"SANTACO is proud to be part of this initiative and we look forward to working with Mayor Mpe to make our roads safer," SANTACO President Tsebe said.

The event was a resounding success, with many attendees pledging their commitment to promoting road safety and unity in the transport sector.
