MEC Rachoene Kept His Promise of Creating More Jobs in Limpopo

Public Works Roads and Infrastructure MEC Tonny Rachoene has practiced what he sermonised that he will create employment in the province without trepidation.

This was evident when he welcomed 174 newly appointed employees who joined the department in the five districts and the department’s head office respectively. 

"One of the things that I committed to when I was given this opportunity to lead in this portfolio, was to create jobs and I'm very happy that today we are welcoming men and women to the department, it was made possible by the support of officials already in the department. We are going to issue another circular, advertising post, which should be filled at least before the financial year ends,” said MEC Rachoene. 

The 174 officials comprise of 83 females and 73 young people and three persons living with disabilities.

MEC Rachoene indicated that these new recruits are just the first of many to come as he welcomed the new recruits.

 “The new appointees will be providing services to the public in the different components of the department such as roads Infrastructure, Education and Health Infrastructure, Properties and Facilities, Infrastructure support to other departments, financial Management and Corporate services. This is strengthening the capacity of Government,” MEC Rachoene added.

This is part of MEC Rachoene’s commitment to strengthen the internal capacity of the Department and by extension the provincial government to deliver services that are much needed in communities. 

The evergreen hardworking MEC Rachoene received a thumbs up from Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba who expressed her gratitude. This initiative is part of MEC Rachoene’s effort in responding to the need for job creation in line with priorities of the President Cyril Ramaphosa’s 7th Administration of National Government of Unity (GNU) geared to boost the state capacity and generating employment.
