Truth. Fearless. Unfiltered.

In a move that has solidified his reputation as a team player, billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe has firmly denied rumors of his presidential ambitions, citing the ANC's protocols.

"The best place for us to make this contribution is outside politics," Motsepe said, addressing shareholders of African Rainbow Minerals. "I said this 20 years ago, and I said it five years ago. The minute you run for votes, you lose sight of the broader objective, the broader benefit for all South Africans."

Motsepe's denial comes after a "PM27" website was launched, urging South Africans to support him to replace President Cyril Ramaphosa as ANC leader. But Motsepe wasn't having it, emphasizing his commitment to respecting ANC procedures.

"So, let me go back to my shareholders, I have a duty to answer these questions to you... I ignore these things, it's false, unfounded," he said, to laughter from attendees.

ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has welcomed Motsepe's stance, saying it's a sign of his commitment to party discipline. "The ANC is a party of process and procedure," Mbalula said. "We respect those who respect our rules."

Motsepe's move has shifted attention to other potential candidates, but one thing is clear: he's playing the long game. As the ANC presidency battle heats up, Motsepe's respectful denial has earned him respect and credibility.

The ANC presidency is up for grabs in 2027, with Ramaphosa serving his last term. Who will be the next leader of South Africa's ruling party? The wait continues...
