Polokwane - In a remarkable display of consistency and good governance, Polokwane Municipality has once again received an unqualified audit opinion from the Auditor-General, marking its fourth consecutive year of achieving this feat.
The municipal housing entity, Polokwane Housing Association (PHA), also joined the celebration with its own clean audit.
Mayor John Mpe's leadership has been instrumental in driving this success, with a focus on transparency, accountability, and excellence. The achievement is a Jtestament to the municipality's commitment to serving the people of Polokwane with integrity and dedication.
"The auditors know the way, the files are ready, and excellence is starting to feel... normal," said a senior municipal official, reflecting on the team's hard work.
The Council Sitting, held on Thursday, January 29, 2026, tabled the 2024/25 Annual Report, which highlighted the municipality's achievements and challenges. Key matters on the agenda included consideration of the Audit and Performance Audit Committee Report and discussion on government debtors.
