Polokwane, Limpopo - MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Tonny Rachoene, has emphasized the need for continued dedication to clean governance and improved service delivery during the Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL) Annual General Meeting held at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium yesterday.

As the shareholder of the entity, MEC Rachoene received a comprehensive brief on the positive strides made by the RAL Board of Directors and Executive Management in stabilizing the agency. He commended the efforts of the board and management, acknowledging the progress made in addressing challenges and improving operations.

However, MEC Rachoene stressed that there is still much work to be done. "We must redouble our efforts to ensure that we entrench clean governance and improve service delivery to the people of Limpopo," he said. "The people of Limpopo deserve nothing but the best, and it is our collective responsibility to deliver on our mandate."

The MEC's call comes as part of the provincial government's efforts to ensure that state-owned entities operate efficiently and effectively. "Clean governance is not a destination, it's a journey, and we must continue to work tirelessly to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of integrity and accountability," MEC Rachoene emphasized.

The RAL AGM provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss the agency's performance, challenges, and future plans. MEC Rachoene assured the gathering that his department would continue to support RAL in its endeavors to improve road infrastructure and service delivery in the province.

"We are committed to working with the board and management to ensure that RAL becomes a model of excellence in the public sector," he said. "Let us work together to build a better Limpopo, where roads are safe, and communities are connected."

The event was part of the #DikgerekgereWednesdays initiative, aimed at engaging with communities and discussing issues affecting the province.

In attendance were RAL board members, executive management, government officials, and stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
