REVOLUTIONARY SPIRIT LIVES ON': ANC PAYS TRIBUTE TO CDE FRANS MOFAPA MOHLALA

Polokwane, Limpopo - The ANC Peter Mokaba Region, led by its Chairperson John Makoro Mpe, came together to celebrate and remember the life and legacy of Cde Frans Mofapa Mohlala, a stalwart of the liberation struggle and former Limpopo ANC Provincial Chairperson.


A day-long programme was held to pay tribute to Cde Mohlala, which included a meaningful visit to the Mohlala family at their homestead in Ga-Mohlala, where the ANC delegation was warmly received.


The visit was led by ANC NEC member and Deputy Minister of Police, Cde Cassel Mathale, who was accompanied by the ANC Peter Mokaba Regional leadership led by Cde Masilo Edward Paya.


During the visit, the delegation shared a brief breakfast with the Mohlala family and engaged in a heartfelt discussion about the life and times of Cde Mohlala. The family expressed their gratitude to the ANC for the honour bestowed upon their late father and grandfather, and for the continued support and solidarity shown to them.


Following the visit, the delegation proceeded to the gravesite, where a wreath-laying ceremony was held to honour the memory of Cde Mohlala. The ceremony was attended by ANC PEC member and Convenor of Deployees in the Peter Mokaba Region, Cde Thabo Mokone, PEC member and Convenor of the ANC Veterans League in the Region, Cde Dewet Monakedi, as well as Regional officials, REC members, branch leadership, Leagues, and Alliance structures.

In his address, Cde Cassel Mathale invoked the spirit of Cde Mohlala and other fallen stalwarts of the ANC to continue guiding us with courage and conviction as we remain steadfast in the struggle for the total liberation and betterment of our people.


"The revolutionary spirit of Cde Frans Mohlala and all our stalwarts must continue to guide us with courage and conviction. We remain steadfast in the struggle for the total liberation and betterment of our people," said Mathale.


The day's programme concluded with the Frans Mohlala Memorial Lecture, held at Unit C Park in Mankweng, where the ANC reaffirmed its commitment to the values and principles that Cde Mohlala embodied throughout his life. The lecture was attended by a large gathering of ANC members, supporters, and community leaders, who all paid tribute to the life and legacy of Cde Mohlala.


The event was a testament to the ANC's message that #ANCLivesANCLeads, and that the legacy of leaders like Cde Frans Mofapa Mohlala continues to shape a future of equality and opportunity for Limpopo and beyond.


As Mpe, Chairperson of the ANC Peter Mokaba Region, reflected on the day's events, "Cde Frans Mohlala's life and legacy continue to inspire us to strive for a better tomorrow. His commitment to the struggle for liberation and his dedication to the people of Limpopo will always be remembered and cherished."


The ANC Peter Mokaba Region remains committed to upholding the values and principles that Cde Mohlala fought for, and to continuing his work towards a brighter future for all.
