Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure MEC Tonny Rachoene is a real trailblazer.

The dusty D4199 road, stretching from Apel to Ga-Nkoana in the Fetakgomo-Tubatse local municipality, Sekhukhune District, was once a challenge for residents and travelers alike.

Potholes and uneven surfaces made every journey a test of endurance. But that was before Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure MEC Tonny Rachoene stepped in with a plan to transform the infrastructure landscape.

As a hardworking leader, MEC Rachoene has been dedicated to delivering quality services to the people of Limpopo. "We are committed to delivering quality services to our people," he said. "Initiatives like DikgerekgereWednesdays are crucial in ensuring that we engage with our communities, listen to their concerns, and find solutions to the challenges they face."

Under his leadership, the department's roads maintenance team descended upon the D4199, armed with machinery and a mission to bring the road up to standard. On Wednesday, the team made significant progress, completing the installation of culverts and continuing with regraveling work. This milestone ensured that water flowed freely and the road remained passable even during the rainy season.

The regraveling work smoothed out the surface, making the journey safer and more comfortable for all who used it. "The transformation of our roads is not just about infrastructure development," MEC Rachoene emphasized. "It's about creating opportunities for economic growth, improving the quality of life for our people, and ensuring that no one is left behind."

On Tuesdays, the department held successful stakeholder engagement sessions, discussing ways to overcome service delivery bottlenecks and updating the community on progress made. During the most recent session, they met with eight key stakeholders, unlocking crucial solutions to benefit the residents of Limpopo. "The feedback from our stakeholders is invaluable," MEC Rachoene said. "It helps us refine our strategies and ensure that we are delivering services that meet the needs of our people."

MEC Rachoene's tireless efforts have paid off, with the department's commitment to StrengtheningInternalCapacity and OperationTsogaMoshomi evident in every discussion, decision, and action taken. As he would say, it's all about #LetsGrowLimpopoTogether and #LeaveNoOneBehind.

The transformation of the D4199 road was just the beginning.

With DikgerekgereWednesdays and StakeholdersTuesdays, the department was paving the way for a brighter future, one road, one engagement, and one solution at a time. The people of Limpopo were no longer forgotten; they were seen, heard, and valued. And as they traveled along the newly repaired road, they knew that they were part of something bigger – a movement towards progress, growth, and a better life for all, thanks to the hard work and dedication of MEC Tonny Rachoene.
