The SACP Limpopo Province Castro Pilusa District recently held its 9th District Congress, electing a dynamic new leadership team.

The event, staged at Greenside Primary School, was a resounding success, with delegates from across the district converging to shape the party's future.

Provincial Secretary Dr Chuene Malebana welcomed the historic election, urging members to rally behind the new officials and drive the party's socialist agenda forward.

Dr Malebana emphasized the congress's commitment to building socialism, saying, "Socialism is the future, build it now!" He praised the delegates for their tireless efforts in mobilizing communities and spreading the party's message. "The SACP remains steadfast in its pursuit of a better life for all, particularly the working class and marginalized," he declared.

In a bold move, the SACP has announced it will contest the upcoming local and national elections independently, breaking away from its traditional alliance with the ANC.

This strategic decision marks a new chapter for the party as it charts its own course to advance socialist ideals. "We are confident that our socialist agenda resonates with the people," Dr Malebana said. "It's time to chart a new path, one that prioritizes the needs of the many over the interests of the few."

The newly elected leaders are:

1. District Secretary – Lawrence Shilabye

2. District Chairperson – Makanti Mabala

3. Treasurer – Moloto Tau Malebana

4. Deputy District Secretary – Mary Phukubye

5. Deputy District Chairperson – Ramatsobane Thobejane

The congress also saw spirited discussions on key policy issues, including land reform, economic empowerment, and social justice. Delegates emphasized the need for radical transformation to address the country's socio-economic challenges. "The SACP is ready to lead the charge for a more equitable society," Shilabye stated.
