The incident, which occurred in the Lepelle Nkumpi municipality of the Capricorn District, left Mapeu with severe injuries to her face and other body parts. She was admitted to Mankweng Hospital for four months, where she received extensive treatment, including multiple surgeries and skin grafting.
During her visit, MEC Mashego expressed deep compassion for Mapeu's situation, reaffirming the Department of Health's commitment to supporting her recovery journey. Mapeu expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Health, particularly Mankweng Hospital, for the exceptional care she received.
