In a resounding success, South Africa's G20 Presidency has come to a close, marking a historic moment for the country and the continent.

President Cyril Ramaphosa hailed the achievement, saying it showcased the nation's strength of values, generosity of people, and power of collective action.

For the first time, the G20 was hosted on African soil, and South Africa rose to the occasion, placing Africa's growth and development at the heart of the agenda. The summit brought together leaders from around the world, fostering collaboration and goodwill, and affirming that shared goals outweigh differences.

The G20 Presidency was a people's movement, engaging tens of thousands of delegates in over 130 meetings across the country. The event showcased South Africa's natural beauty, warm hospitality, and economic sophistication.

Key outcomes include a commitment from the international community to address developing economies' debt, increased investment for climate action, and a new approach to critical minerals for sustainable development. These agreements will benefit every South African, creating jobs and driving growth.

Ramaphosa thanked all South Africans for contributing to this success, saying, "We can be proud of what we have achieved... This has been the historic effort to which all South Africans have contributed."

The success of the G20 Leaders' Summit, coupled with the improving economy and growing confidence in the reform programme, signals that South Africa is a country on the rise. As Ramaphosa said, "The success... shows that South Africa is a country on the rise."
