ANCYL provincial chair Tonny Rachoene respect to traditional leaders is paramount

ANCYL provincial chairperson in Limpopo Tonny Rachoene has heed the call by the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa)  President Chief Mathupa Mokoena that he must continue to respect traditional leaders.

His recent visit to Kgoshi Madihlaba at Kwena Madihlaba Tribal Authority in Ga-Moloi village was testimony that Rachoene is a consummate leader who listens to his elders. He gave Chief Madihlaba a cow and groceries. This makes Chief Madihlaba the 20th Chief to be showered with gifts by Rachoene who also electioneered for the ANC at Sekhukhune region during its massive door to door campaign ahead of the much anticipated provincial and general elections.

Contralesa President Kgoshi Mokoena recently recognised and applauded the ANCYL provincial chairperson Rachoene in Limpopo for forming a respectable rapport with traditional leaders in Limpopo.

He said this when addressing masses at Ga-Marishiane Royal House during the inauguration of Kgoshi Tseke Marishane recently.

“It will be disingenuous for me not to speak about the leader of the ANCYL who is Tonny Rachoene. He is a good leader who respects elders and will vote for him. Many traditional leaders benefitted from him. He offered them gifts, groceries and meat(cows) without them asking. But those who are jealous will say Rachoene is trying to make himself better, however we are saying to them they are mamenemene (hypocrites),” said Contralesa President Mokoena.

“That’s very noble young man. As Contralesa President, I am saying if you see him tell him that Kgoshi Mokoena says that traditional leaders love him. Whatever he asks we as traditional leaders will assist him as traditionalleaders. All the chiefs love him as well. People like him are scarce therefore we promise him that Contralesa will support him.”

Earlier, traditional leaders in Limpopo earlier expressed their discontentment to the ANC provincial executive committee that Premier Stan Mathabatha and his administration neglected them.

The first woman to be elected as the provincial chairperson of Contralesa Kgoshigadi Nkweng Seopela gave salutation to Rachoene’s leadership with his ANCYL comrades following their mission entitled “# Magoshi Friday”,  of visiting various traditional leaders in all regions across Limpopo.

Kgoshigadi Seopela told The Azanian that Rachoene has revived the ANC in Limpopo because most traditional leaders were beginning to lose hope with the ruling party. “We want to thank Rachoene for reviving our morale. Traditional leaders in Limpopo were disappointed with the ANC for various reasons. Rachoene is a good example of a young consummate leader who respects elders.  Traditional leaders in Limpopo didn’t want anything to do with the ANC but the ANCYL in Limpopo under Rachoene’s leadership reinvigorated us.  Contralesa will support the ANC during the next coming elections.”

Rachoene said:“Our elders in the form of traditional leaders are the mirrors of our nation who can provide a clear picture in our communities in terms of service delivery by our government. They are the most potent integral part of our lives. Indeed, they are a mouthpiece between the communities and government. Our traditional leaders are the rare glue needed by the ANC and its youth wing in our bid for renewal.”

Last year, Peter Mokaba Regional Chairperson John Makoro Mpe and ANCYL provincial chairperson  Rachoene  respectively donated a brahman cow and groceries to Chief Malesela Solomon Dikgale as a sign of appreciation to the traditional authorities in Limpopo.

“Our elders in the form of traditional leaders are the mirrors of our nation who can provide a clear picture in our communities in terms of service delivery by our government. They are the most potent integral part of our lives. Indeed they are a mouthpiece between the communities and government. Our traditional leaders are the rare glue needed by the ANC and its youth wing in our bid for renewal,” Rachoene said.

Mpe said respecting elders and traditional leaders as well as members of the society is the most potent weapon.
