Bolsheviks Party national secretary Seun Mogotji has called on Police Deputy Minister Cassel Mathale to intervene in assisting Ga-Masemola police who are working in difficult conditions.
Mogotji said he was shocked to see police officials using cellphone torches to do their work because their police station had no electricity for two years.
“I had the shock of my life when visiting Ga-Masemola SAPS and found out the police station has no electricity and although I got contradictory statements as to the reasons behind the power cut, one thing everyone agrees about is that it has been two years without electricity at that station. Can you please intervene to make sure the problem is sorted once and for all and things can get back to normal. I saw police officers certifying documents and because the room was dim, they had to use their phone torches, if their phone batteries go flat then what? It can't be correct that such happens,” Mogotji remarked.
He pleaded with Deputy Minister Mathale, “Please assist before thugs attack that station at night to steal police ammunition, it has happened in other places,we don't wa nt it to happen at Masemola SAPS.”
Bolsheviks Party leader whose party will be contesting the provincial election in Limpopo, Mpumalanga and Gauteng said he is not scoring political points but concerned about the police working conditions in the station. "I'm concerned that the Limpopo police provincial commissioner is not doing anything about this matter. We will not allow such things to happen under our Bolsheviks Party administration hence we are calling for our people to vote for us and remove the ANC from power," he said.
