Limpopo, South Africa - In a bid to boost the province's internal capacity, Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba has welcomed 140 newly appointed employees to the Public Service.
The new recruits will be joining the Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, led by MEC Tonny Rachoene, as part of the 7th Administration's efforts to strengthen the province's infrastructure and service delivery.
The new employees will be stationed at cost centres and district offices across the province, bringing much-needed skills and energy to the department. MEC Tonny Rachoene, who has been at the helm of the department, has been instrumental in driving the province's infrastructure development agenda.
"Today, we are taking a significant step towards building a stronger and more efficient public service," said Premier Ramathuba. "These new appointees will play a critical role in supporting our efforts to deliver quality services to our people, and we are confident that they will make a meaningful contribution to the province's development."
MEC Rachoene expressed his enthusiasm about the new recruits, saying, "I am thrilled to welcome these young professionals to our team. Their skills and expertise will be invaluable in helping us drive our infrastructure development agenda and improve the lives of our people."
As MEC Rachoene completes his first year in office, it's clear that his leadership has been a game-changer for Limpopo's Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure department. With a strong focus on job creation, infrastructure development, and community engagement, Rachoene has made a significant impact in the province.
Under Rachoene's leadership, the department has created over 435 new jobs in just 10 months, with 174 new recruits joining the department in a single initiative. This brings the total number of new jobs created to 609, bringing hope to many families in Limpopo, who can now provide for their loved ones.
Rachoene's department has embarked on ambitious projects to upgrade and maintain the province's road network. The 21 New Roads initiative is set to transform the province's road infrastructure, making it more accessible and drivable for all.
