RAMAPHOSA REGAINS CONTROL: A NEW ERA OF STABILITY AND PROSPERITY FOR SOUTH AFRICA

In a powerful display of leadership and vision, President Cyril Ramaphosa has regained the reins of the African National Congress (ANC), setting the stage for a new era of stability and prosperity for South Africa.

The 5th National General Council (NGC) of the ANC, held at the Birchwood Conference Centre in Ekurhuleni, was a resounding success, with Ramaphosa presenting a comprehensive political report that outlined the party's vision for the future.

The NGC, which took place against the backdrop of a rapidly changing global landscape, was a testament to the ANC's commitment to renewal and transformation.

Ramaphosa's address, which was met with thunderous applause, underscored the party's determination to tackle the pressing challenges facing South Africa, including poverty, inequality, and unemployment.

In his speech, Ramaphosa emphasized the importance of unity and cohesion within the ANC, calling on members to rally behind the party's vision and values.

He also highlighted the progress made in implementing the decisions of the 55th National Conference, including the establishment of a Government of National Unity (GNU) and the launch of the National Dialogue.

The GNU, which was formed in response to the 2024 elections, has been instrumental in promoting stability and cooperation within the country.

Ramaphosa praised the alliance partners for their commitment to the GNU's priorities, including driving inclusive growth and job creation, reducing poverty and tackling the high cost of living, and building a capable, ethical, and developmental state.

The National Dialogue, which was launched in August 2025, has been a significant milestone in the country's journey towards healing and reconciliation.

Ramaphosa emphasized the importance of the dialogue in promoting social cohesion and national unity, and called on all South Africans to participate in the process.

In a stern warning to ANC members, Ramaphosa urged them to refrain from "flashing" their wealth and status in public, saying that it was unbecoming of revolutionaries. "We must be known for our humility and simplicity, not for our flashy cars and designer clothes," he said.

The NGC also saw the presentation of the ANC's Vision 2032, which outlines the party's long-term vision for South Africa. The vision, which was developed by the Renewal Commission, emphasizes the importance of building a united, non-racial, non-sexist, democratic, and prosperous South Africa.

As Ramaphosa looks to the future, he is faced with a number of challenges, including the ongoing struggle against corruption and state capture, and the need to accelerate economic growth and job creation.

However, his leadership and vision have inspired confidence in the ANC and the country, and there is a sense of optimism and hope for the future.

The Azanian congratulates President Ramaphosa on his successful NGC and looks forward to the ANC's continued progress and success in the years ahead.
